There’s been a few changes around here!
You may have noticed Football in Berkshire has had a fresh coat of paint. We’re absolutely thrilled with our new look – a few people have been working really hard to bring this fresh vision to life. It didn’t quite happen in time for the 10th anniversary but it’s here now.
We’ve taken a lot of inspiration from the Berkshire flag to create the new look and we think the change in colour and logo reflect it really well – but of course we’d say that.
So why have we changed? A lot of the reasons are technical. It’s a faster server, load times are quicker and we’ve moved away from an ‘in your face’ ad model.
You’re welcome!
What that means though is of course we still have to pay for things, which is why we’re proud to launch our Football in Berkshire Supporters Club. A way to contribute to the next 10 years of the site either by a small monthly fee OR a one off donation.

“We’ve removed all the ‘in your face’ advertising”
In terms of functionality, as I mentioned, we’ve removed all of the in your face advertising. It served a purpose but we believe you’ll appreciate the new approach we’ve taken.
We’re still looking to partner with local and football-adjacent businesses, those spaces that remain on the site are still well viewed and well placed to get noticed. If you’d like to know more about advertising with us, you can do that here.
We want to make it easier to take reader contributions. Whether that’s commenting on a piece, or pitching us a piece of content. We’re now well setup for that.
For example, if you’ve ever felt like your club isn’t getting the coverage it deserves, or you have a good idea for a piece, you can do something about it by pitching an idea or take up the mantle yourself and become your clubs correspondent.
Want to become a club or area correspondent? Find out more with our ‘job description’ here.
There’s is till lots of exciting changes and updates to come including the relaunch of our award winning podcast.
However we must say a huge thank you to our website server host Paul Faulkner at Headwall Hosting (based in Woodley), and our design agency mates With Flair for our fancy new look.
Thanks for reading, see you on the terraces,
Tom
