Newly promoted Isthmian League side Windsor & Eton have announced a number of departures including the clubs longest serving player Ben Catt.
The midfielder, who joined with then manager Matt Angell as the club began life in the Thames Valley Premier League in 2023 from Eversley & California, enjoyed two promotions with the Royalists which culminated in a Combined Counties League Premier Division North play-off title last month.
He was part of the Windsor side that was promoted from the Thames Valley Premier League in 2024, won the Combined Counties League Division One in 2025 and the Premier Division North play-off Final and CCL League Cup in 2026.
A statement from the club said: “With a heavy heart, our longest serving player Ben Catt has decided to move on. Ben has received an offer that was too good to turn down from a club based 5 minutes from where he lives. Ben was part of our journey from the very beginning back at step 7.”
The club have also confirmed Juwon Akintunde, Aiden Payne-James, Leo Decabo and Bakai Manneh – the latter relocating to Birmingham with his family.
According to the clubs social media, Manneh spoke to manager Rob Webb and said: “It’s a shame I’ve had to leave and move from Reading to Birmingham, because if I’d stayed local I honestly would’ve carried on working with you and the team. But family has to come first.”
The Royalists Twitter account also confirmed: “We’ll be sharing news on new signings soon!”
The Royalists are expected then to have incomings ahead of their return to Step 4 next season, and have already secured the services of Jack Mazzone.
Speaking of the permanent move, manager Webb said on the club website: “Jack is a great fit for what we’re trying to do as a club. Everyone knows he brings goals but more importantly he fits into our club culture and we’re delighted to have someone of his quality at the club.”
