Ascot United captain Josh Edwards has joined Hayes & Yeading after three seasons at the Racecourse Ground.
Edwards will link up again with former Yellas boss Jamie Tompkins who has been in charge at the Skyex Stadium since December 2025.
A statement posted on the Isthmian League website said: “Ascot United have announced that defender and captain Josh Edwards will leave the club to join Isthmian South Central rivals Hayes & Yeading United.
“Edwards bids farewell to the Yellamen after making 112 appearances since his debut for the club during the 2023/24 campaign.
“The youngster will be an invaluable asset to a United side that finished a respectable ninth last season, 12 points adrift of AFC Portchester in the final play-off spot.”
Unsurprisingly, there is a distinct Berkshire flavour to Hayes recruits this summer after Tompkins spent seven seasons in the hotseat at the Yellas, lifting the FA Vase at Wembley Stadium in the process.

New signings include another former Yella in Joe Gater while two Binfield stars from last season have made the switch to West London in Amari Fashanu and Kyle Daniel-Spray while Sean Basaye has moved over from Bracknell Town.
Fashanu made 41 appearances for the Moles last season scoring 13 times while full-back Daniel-Spray made 44 appearances having also played for Thatcham Town.
Ascot meanwhile have appointed former Eversley & California joint-boss Darryl Jelly as new First Team coach.
