Mortimer FC, known as ‘The Villagers’ were formed in 1934 and play at the Alfred Palmer Memorial Field. The club was orignally known as Mortimer Garth and was set up 1915 by Miss Bertha Capron in memory of her nephew who was killed in World War One. Mortimer were founder members of the Reading Football League which later became the Thames Valley Premier League.
