Last weekend saw postponed fixtures right across the county due to the chaos of Storm Ciara and teams will no doubt be praying that Storm Dennis doesn’t wreak the same sort of havoc as we look to Sunday’s games. None less than S4K FC Ladies and Mortimer Ladies as they go head to head in a second versus third clash in the Thames Valley Women’s Football League Division 3 South.
Mortimer will feel they have something to prove, as last time these two met, it was an incredibly close knit game. However, S4K were able to sneak the full points away from home for a final score of 2-1 for the Bracknell based squad.
Mortimer sit third in the table, with a game in hand, so will most certainly be keen to snatch all 3 points from S4K whose home record leaves a little to be desired having only picked up two wins alongside a draw and 2 losses. Just a single point separates the two teams so it really is all to play for as S4K chase down Newbury Ladies Development seven point lead at the top.
Ciara Molloy will be looking to get her name on the scoresheet once again after 3 goals in her last 2 appearance for S4K. Whilst Mortimer top goalscorer Mel Saunders will be looking to make it 5 in 11 appearances, with Georgia Hind wanting to secure her second place top goalscorer spot with a 4th goal. She currently shares the position with two other teammates but her impressive goal:appearance ratio of 3 in 4 puts her firmly in second.
League form guide:
