Mortimer offer reward for information on goalpost vandals

Goal posts were vandalised at the Alfred Palmer Memorial Field

Mortimer club officials were greeted with a bit of a shock when they arrived at their home ground on Saturday.

Overnight the goalposts that were to be used in the afternoon’s game against Newbury were damaged beyond repair.

Thankfully Mortimer found another set of goalposts and were able to ensure the game went ahead, although it finished with a 2-1 win for the visitors, ending a nine match unbeaten run for the village side.

The West Berkshire club have offered a £250 reward to anyone who has any information on this crime.
