Four Thames Valley Premier League sides took part in the Berks & Bucks FA Senior Trophy on Saturday with both Mortimer and Cookham Dean pulling off shocks at step 6 opponents.
For managerless Mortimer, it might just be the boost the side needs before they return to league action and look to haul themselves away from the bottom of the table.

Bracknell Town Reserves 3 Richings Park 1
Richings Park went down 3-1 at Larges Lane to a youthful Bracknell Town Reserves side on Saturday.
Cookham Dean 4 Chalvey Sports 3
Cookham Dean were 3-0 up against Chalvey Sports at half-time, but a spirited fightback from the Stabmonks saw the away side get back into the game. However, a late winner from Daniel Stacey saw the home club into the next round. Jack Alder and Jack Shea with a brace were the other goalscorers for Dean.
Milton United 1 Mortimer 2
An impressive win for the Villagers at Milton after a few tough weeks in the league for Mortimer. The away side played much of the game with ten men so emerge from a win at Hellenic League Milton with great credit.
Wantage Town Reserves 3 Burghfield 2
Goals from Luke Stone, Jack Howes and a winner from Jordan Davies saw Wantage Town Reserves through to the next round of the BBFA Senior Cup against TVPL side Burghfield.
Thames Valley Premier Division
Finchampstead 1 – 3 Wraysbury Village
An excellent away victory for Wraysbury Village sees them move up to 7th in the league. The Village goals were scored by Church, Dewhurst and Mensah. The consolation goal was scored by Finchampstead’s Payne.
Maidenhead Town 0 – 5 Berks County FC
The result of the day in the Thames Valley Premier League came at Bisham Abbey where league leaders Town were hit for five by Berks County. Maidenhead Town are now down to third with County moving into fifth place.
Reading City U23 3 – 0 Woodcote
Reading City’s impressive season continued on Saturday with a solid 3-0 home victory over Woodcote. City have now recorded four clean sheets in row.
Kri Tuffour, Jude van Spall and Jehmeil McNeil with the goals for Reading City U23, who now sit on the top of the Thames Valley Premier League.
Westwood Wanderers 2 – 1 Newbury FC
An impressive 2-1 victory for Wanderers at Theale Recreation Ground on Saturday. Newbury are now in fourth place with Westwood Wanderers having moved into second place one point behind leaders Reading City u23.
Woodley United Royals 3 – 3 Windlesham United
Royals came from behind twice to secure a draw against Windlesham United. A hat-trick from Windlesham’s Robert Ellis and goals from Dylan Chafflin, Shamen Goswell and Simon Frost for the home side.
