Mark James has announced his decision to step down at Wessex League Division One Kintbury Rangers.
The manager led the club to a very creditable 12th on their first season back at Step 6 since a 13th placed finish in the Hellenic League Division One East in 2010.
Rangers moved up to the Wessex Division One last summer from the Wiltshire League, but will now need to find a new boss after James’ departure.
A statement from the club said: “It is with sadness that we have to announce that at the conclusion of the First Teams final match yesterday Mark ‘Jesse’ James informed the club he is stepping away from football to spend time with his family.
“Everyone at KRFC would like to thank Jesse for everything he has done for the club and a great first season in Step 6. He is leaving us in a great position to build going into next season.
“Everyone at the club wish Jesse and his family all the best for the future.”
Meanwhile, Thames Valley Premier League side Burghfield have announced manager Liam Gillis has stepped down after two seasons. A social media post from the club said: “We can confirm that Liam Gillis will step down as Men’s First Team Manager at the end of the season.
“We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Liam for the energy and commitment he has brought to the role during his time in charge.”
