Vanarama National League South Slough Town continue to build their squad for the 2020/21 season with the return of midfielder Aaron Kuhl.
A product of the Reading FC academy, Kuhl featured three times for the Rebels last season – including the National League South play off defeat – after joining from Basingstoke Town. He had initially joined the Hampshire side in October 2019 after a long injury lay off.
During the 2019/20 season, he also featured for Southern League Hartley Wintney but is now set to make his mark on Arbour Park with a club spokesperson saying on the Slough Town website: “Kuhly’s pedigree and quality have never been in doubt, but what has stood out for us over the past nine months since he began training with us has been the huge improvement in his strength and fitness.”
24-year-old Kuhl made six appearances in the EFL Championship for Reading as well as 41 in the Premier League 2 during his time with the Royals and had a wide variety of loan spells with Dundee United in Scotland as well as Boreham Wood in the National League.
In addition to England youth honours with England under 19 and 20, Kuhl had a number of trials with clubs like RCD Mallorca in Spain, Stjarnan in Iceland as well as Aldershot Town. It was the latter where he ruptured is medial collateral ligament, ruling him out of the game for an extended period of time.
The ex Royal is the Rebels second summer signing on the back of Jack McKnight’s move from Eastleigh, while popular midfielder Scott Davies has made the switch to Biggleswade Town.
