Ascot United semi-final bound in Berks & Bucks County Cup

Ascot United are through to the semi-finals of the Berks & Bucks County FA Senior Cup after a 3-1 win at Southern League Division One Didcot Town on Tuesday night.

The Yellamen could potentially face any of the County FA’s three professional sides in the last four with Wycombe Wanderers already through after a 4-0 win over Long Crendon while Reading FC still have to face Chesham United and MK Dons have to face Beaconsfield Town.

On the night, Ascot were superb against higher-division opposition, Taylor Morgan struck first for Jamie Tompkins team after half an hour and he doubled his side’s lead on 52 minutes.

In to the final 10 and Sean McCormack wrapped things up, sliding in at the far post to connect with James Richardson’s cross.

Ascot’s road to the semi-finals has included an 8-2 win over Newport Pagnell Town, a walkover against Maidenhead United and a 3-0 win over Isthmian League Thatcham Town.
