Another Berkshire derby to round off the Bank Holiday Weekend fixtures, this time on Tuesday night as Ascot United made the short trip to Wokingham & Emmbrook in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division North.
The Sumas, under new manager Elliott Whitehouse, are still looking for a first point of the season after a 2-1 defeat while Ascot United moved back in to the top half of the table after Harry Laflin’s double strike gave the Yellamen the three points.
Laflin’s goals made it eight in six games for Ascot and they came in very typical fashion, a header from a Chris Ellis throw in the first half and a smart volley in the second from the edge of the box.

Wokingham did rally, their own talisman Jake White scoring from the penalty spot, albeit a rebound after his kick was saved but the Yellamen held out to take the points.
The Sumas debuted two new signings in former Marlow winger Allen Bossman while Harry Pearson, another winger who has joined from Cove – made the bench.
