“I’m ever so proud” Slough Town fly FA Cup flag and draw Macclesfield at home

Slough Town will face National League North opposition in the FA Cup after reaching the Second Round Proper for the first time since 2018.

The Rebels of the National League South stunned their National League opponents Altrincham on Saturday with a 2-0 first half lead through new boy Ansu Janneh and Wiktor Makowski before Alty substitute James Gale pulled one back with under half an hour to go.

1,531 watched the FA Cup tie at Arbour Park as Slough gave a debut to Janneh while new signing Luke Holness was an unused sub along with Carl Dennison who was brought in from Langley as cover for number one Adam Desbois having played of Friday night for the Merrymakers against Woodley United.

Gale’s goal prompted a nervy final quarter of the game but Scott Davies side held on and setup a ninth trip to the Second Round where the Rebels will host National League North Macclesfield at Arbour Park on the weekend of Saturday 6th December 2025.

Macclesfield are 11th in the Northern equivalent of Slough’s division and are managed by John Rooney, the younger brother of former England striker Wayne.
