Former Slough Town defender Sean Fraser has announced his retirment in a social media post saying ‘Thank you for the memories’.

Fraser, most recently with Ascot United in the Isthmian League will be most well known in Berkshire as the veteran of 368 appearances for Slough Town over a 10-year spell as the Rebels went from Step 4 to the National League South.

He wrote: “Just like that, my football journey has come to an end, there won’t be “one more season” this time. Thanks to all the people in the game I have come across and shared some amazing times with, especially to the players I have shared the pitch with. Thank you for the memories.”

Before his Rebels stint, Fraser’s career took in Falkirk, Coventry City, Marlow and Banbury United before becoming a cornerstone of Slough Town’s resurgance under Jon Underwood and Neil Baker.

He departed Arbour Park in 2022 taking in stops at Beaconsfield Town, Bracknell Town and the Yellas where last season he played 17 times for Gavin Smith’s side as they successfully avoided relegation.
