Former Bracknell Town winger and captain Seb Bowerman is to leave Dorking Wanderers after two season, the club has announced.

A statement released on the Surrey sides website called Bowerman ‘a cornerstone of this recent Wanderers era’ – something both Bracknell and Binfield fans could attest to after similar endearing spells with both sides.

Bowerman made almost 70 appearances for Dorking after moving from Bracknell in September 2022, the majority in the Vanarama National League before relegation at the end of last season.

“Seb went on to make 26 appearances in our inaugural National League campaign, netting twice more and enjoying a stellar first season at the club. Another highlight of the 29-year-old’s time with us came on the opening day of the 2023/24 campaign, netting in front of a crowd of 11,000+ at Chesterfield,” the statement says.

Bowerman himself added: “Overall, I just want to say a massive thank you to the gaffer, and the fans. I will always remember my excitement when signing for the club two years ago, I never thought my non-league career would peak in step one football. Ultimately, all I wanted to do in my football career was play in some of the stadiums that we did together, so I want to say a massive thank-you to Marc and everyone at the club for enabling me to do that.”

Bowerman spent six years at Bracknell having come through the ranks at Binfield with a brief spell at Flackwell Heath, he remains one of the Robins’ all-time top goal scorers and was part of the Bracknell side that won the Isthmian League South Central Division One at a canter.
