On Sunday, Reading & District Sunday League side Burghfield are back on the road in the FA Sunday Cup to holders Baiteze Squad.

The Third Round includes 32 teams with Burghfield and Paggies Bar the remaining Berkshire representatives in the competition.

The Burghfield squad can call on Josh Howell, Teo Atik and Paul Taplin from an extensive squad list and made it through to the last 32 after beating Flaunden away 4-3 having receiv a bye from the First Round.

That Second Round win was the culmination of a remarkable story that saw James Sayer score the winning goal, a year after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest on the pitch during a game against Twyford Comets.

Burghfield face arguably the toughest tie they could have drawn though when they visit Essex Sunday Corinthian League Premier side Baiteze Squad, the 2021/22 FA Sunday Cup holders.

Newbury Sunday League side Paggies Bar are also away in the Third Round on Sunday. The West Berks team are unbeaten so far in the Premier Division, scoring 23 goals, so will go into their trip to Ipswich Sunday League Premier Division leaders Borussia Martlesham full of confidence.

The Paggies side includes a number of non-league ‘names’ including Danny Langford, Zach Tull, Theo Pennicott-Bowen and Brad Pagliaroli, and reached the Third Round after beating North Watford 3-2.
