Yateley United have moved quickly to appoint a new manager following the sudden departure of Adam Hopkins.
Jordan Blake is the new man in charge after his own departure from Woodley United after four years in charge.
Arguably the highlight of his tenure with the Kestrels was the 24/25 season Great Escape, where his side avoided relegation from the Combined Counties League Division One on the final day of the season, having been below the dotted line the entire campaign.
He then led the side to a monumental season last term, taking Woodley United to the play-offs having gone unbeaten in the opening 18 matches of the league season, losing their first game on 11th November.
Blake was honoured in the summer when he was named Manager of the Season at the Berkshire Football Awards and joined a unique group of managers to manage his club’s Men’s First Team and Women’s First Team when he stepped in to help his club out.
The Yateley job will be a step up in level for Blake after the Hampshire side won promotion via the Wessex League Division One play-offs last season under Hopkins. They will play in the Combined Counties League Premier Division South next season alongside neighbours Eversley & California.
Hopkins departure was a surprise as he looked set to lead the club this season. Last week however Southern League Premier Division South Bracknell Town announced the departure of Carl Davies and Hopkins was quickly appointed to the role having previously managed Sandhurst Town and Holyport.
