Maidenhead United will be without the trickery of forward Sam Barratt next season after it was confirmed he was leaving the Vanarama National League side.
Barratt, who has enjoyed two spells with the Magpies either side of a stint in the Football League with Southend United, leaves having played 25 times this season.
The attacker endured an injury-hit season in 2022/23, scoring just twice as Maidenhead avoided relegation on the final day of the season.
Barratt made his Maidenhead United debut in September 2014 in a 4-1 defeat by St Albans City having joined from then Hellenic League Bracknell Town.
As we wrote at the time: “Stepping up from the Hellenic League, the teenage Barratt showed no signs of being overawed with some nice touches on the left wing, whipping in a couple of decent crosses.”
While with Maidenhead, Barratt earned a National League South winners medal and represent England C winning two caps.
The forward is the latest long-serving Magpie to depart, joining Ryan Upward (now at Farnborough) and Adrian Clifton in heading through the exit door at York Road.
