Top-goalscorer Ryan Seager and promising youngster Sol Wanjau-Smith are among several players departing Vanarama National League South Hungerford Town this summer.

In the case of the attacking duo, both are moving up the Football Pyramid to the National League with Dorking Wanderers and Maidstone United respectively.

Both sides will be in the top tier of non-league football next season after sealing promotion last season.

While undoubtedly a blow to Crusaders, boss Danny Robinson has proved astute at unearthing talent during both his time with Hungerford and former club Thatcham Town. The upward moves of both players will no doubt make the club more appealing to youngsters hoping to make the step up.

Speaking about Seager’s signing to Dorking, manager Marc White said on the club’s website: “Ryan is one of the most inform strikers in Non-League football, he has a serious pedigree & is potent in front of goal, he is a big signing for Dorking Wanderers.”

Announcing his own departure – which was subsequently revealed to be to Maidstone, Wanjau-Smith said on the Hungerford site: “I would like to thank Danny, Darts and the rest of the management team for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to play at this level. I have loved my time at the club”

As well as the two attackers, Hungerford have said goodbye to goalkeeper Luke Cairney and veteran defender Keith Emmerson but have confirmed the re-signings of Callum Willmoth, captain James Rusby, Rhys Tyler and signed goalkeeper Marcus Beauchamp.
