Maidenhead United have signed Southend United striker Emile Acquah on a one-month loan.

The 19-year-old leaves Southend – who have former Magpie Sam Barratt on their books – for York Road, having appeared ten times this season for Sol Campbell’s Shrimpers. Acquah has scored one goal in what was Campbell’s first game in charge against Ipswich Town.

Standing at 6ft 3”, Acquah is likely to play a centre-forward role in Alan Devonshire’s side. In his last loan spell at Harlow Town, the striker scored nine times across 30 appearances before returning to Southend.

Acquah is the Magpies third signing of January after winger Ody Alfa and goalkeeper Taye Ashby-Hammond, the latter of whom is in his second spell at the club.
