Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division Windsor’s top scorer Dan Roberts has signed Vanarama National League forms with South Division side Slough Town.
Roberts is Windsor’s top scorer this season with 25 goals in 34 games and was a key player in the Royalists run to the Fifth Round of the FA Vase.
According to a post on the Slough website, Roberts has joined the Rebels on dual registration and will be involved in the matchday squad on Saturday when Town make the short trip to Hampton & Richmond Borough.
Speaking to the Rebels website, joint managers Neil Baker and Jon Underwood said: “Dan will remain a Windsor player until the end of the season, and with the blessing of manager Micky Woodham we will involve him when appropriate. This enables us to get a good look at him, and will give us a better idea of whether he can bridge the three division gap, however he has electric pace with an eye for goal, and may offer us a different option to what we already have.
“With Windsor not playing this weekend, Dan will form part of our squad, and this has helped enable Manny [Williams] to get an important 90 minutes under his belt, however Dan will be back with Windsor on Tuesday.”
Roberts is, we understand having spoken to Geoff Warner in the last weeks also registered with Bostik League Bracknell Town but is on a season ‘loan’ with Windsor. Both Bracknell and Slough have a relationship with the Rebels having several players dual registered at Larges Lane.
Slough have also signed AFC Wimbledon striker Tommy Wood on an initial one month loan.
