It has been reported by the website londonnewsonline.co.uk that former Bracknell Town and current Maidenhead United winger Sam Barratt is on trial at Premier League club.
Barratt is on the verge of lifting the Vanarama National League South title with the Magpies but has, according to the website of the London Weekly News and Mercury been training with Crystal Palace and is expected to play in an under 23 game against Sheffield United on Monday.
The report published on Friday (which you can read here) says: ‘The 21-year-old winger has trained with the first-team this week and may feature for the Eagles’ under-23 side on Monday when they host Sheffield United at Selhurst Park.’
Sam – a crowd favourite during his three years at Larges Lane – had a months loan at Staines Town this season and was a 77th minute substitute for the Magpies in the 2-0 win at Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday.

Last summer Barratt – who has stated his desire to make his way in to the Football League – played several games for League 1 Bristol Rovers during a trial spell and was highly regarded by the Pirates manager Darrell Clarke before returning to Maidenhead – even receiving a fine write up on the Bristol Post website.
It seems now though he is on Palace’s radar having previously had a trial at the South London club.
If it is indeed correct that Sam is at Palace, everyone at FootballinBracknell would like to wish Sam the best of luck!
