Sam Barratt is back for his third spell in the Vanarama National League with Maidenhead United and he’s proving as valuable to the Magpies as ever.
Barratt’s strike won the game for Maidenhead United on Saturday after Tobi Sho-Silva opened the scoring in the Vanarama National League tie at home to Solihull Moors.
His former teammate Josh Kelly levelled on 35 minutes but Barratt’s winner came with a spectacular bit of range to it.
There is no question the top-tier of non-league football is one of the most competitive in the country, the Magpies are as close to a play-off push as they are to relegation – and where they’ve struggled for goals in recent weeks, having a player like Barratt able to conjour something from nothing could be the difference.

The team are next in action, on the road to Bristol on the 4th February when they face Portishead Town in the FA Women’s National League South West Division One.
