Westwood Wanderers top the Thames Valley Premier League by a point from Windsor & Eton and beat two-time champions Finchampstead 3-1 at the weekend as one of only a handful of games that beat the weather.

It’s no wonder then that the Reading sides supporters were enjoying themselves as pictured by snapper Andrew Batt who caught this image of a flare pitch side at the Memorial Ground.

It was certainly a bumper day for a crowd at Finchampstead who lost out to goals from Jamie Porter (2) and Benjamin Young – Joel Day getting Finch’s strike.

Windsor & Eton are likely to go back top having a game in hand but it’s pleasing to see the TVPL remains a hugely competitive division.
