Thames Valley Premier League champions Westwood Wanderers have confirmed their new management team in a statement released across social media.
The club have won the last three TVPL titles as well as almost every cup competition available under former boss Devonn Reid who departed for Newbury Town in the summer.
As Westwood United, the club were founder members of the Reading League (now TVPL) in 1989, winning a first league title in 1997. That Division One (Kennet) title was followed by the Premier Division title in 1998 which moved the club to the Senior Division which was won for the first time in 2008.
The club dropped a division in 2013, winning the Division One title three times in a row between 2015 and 2017/ The club changed its name to Westwood Wanderers in 2019 and after a 10th (of 14 teams) place finish in 2021, Wanderers went on to finsih fourth, sixth, first, first and first.
In a statement, the club said: “As three-in-a-row Thames Valley Premier League Champions, Westwood Wanderers has always been built on the collective strength of our community, our history, and the relentless desire to win.
“Following an incredibly successful era – for all three men’s teams – we now face a period of transition and rebuild.
“Following the departure of First Team manager Devonn Reid to rival side Newbury Town, a group of senior players have also elected to move on. We thank them for their dedication, the memorable goals, and their massive contributions to our club’s trophy cabinet.
“However, at Westwood, no single departure defines us. Change brings opportunity.”
The New Era: Suarez & Beasley Take the Helm
We are thrilled to formally confirm Dan Suarez and Callum Beasley as our new First Team Managers, supported by assistants Richard Barnett and Adrian Hutson.
Dan has been at the club for almost two decades, bringing through a successful youth team from U7’s all the way through to men’s football, illustrating his commitment to player development and club loyalty. Successfully leading the Men’s Development and Reserve teams to silverware in the club’s recent years, his appointment is a commitment from the club to ensure we continue to grow while honouring the core values of our 50+ year heritage.
As a long serving player of Westwood, Callum brings a clear understanding of the values and ethos of the club along with qualified and successful management and coaching experience from his role as Head of Football at Leighton Park School. At 25 years old, Callum is possibly one of the youngest managers the league has ever had, if not the youngest. We are confident that his appointment will underpin the club’s development into the future.
They both look to progress a club with a legendary pedigree, spending the summer hard at work to lay down the foundations for the 2026/27 campaign and beyond.

Football in Berkshire’s Thames Valley Premier League expert told us in a preview available from Friday morning at 7am: “Previous Champions Westwood Wanderers could be looking at a rebuilding season. With the loss of their management team and a vast majority of the playing squad that have made them so successful, they will be looking to stabilise and build again. The appointment of Dan Suarez and Callum Beasley will bring continuity having been at the club for a long period and they will no doubt be looking to create a pathway for Westwood to challenge once again.”
