In the first of our women’s football round-up, we take a look at how each of our local clubs got on in the Southern Region Women’s Football League, and Thames Valley Women’s Football League.
Southern Region Women’s Football League
Premier Division: Tina Leahy and Sarah Davern both scored for win-less Bracknell Town at Newbury on Sunday afternoon but the double wasn’t enough for the Robins who were beaten 3-2.
Division 1: There was a hat-trick for Amy Woollard and goals shared across Tracey Ellis (2), Georgia Bowers, Hannah Evans, Vivian Moore and Lucie Kroutliova as Ascot United beat Winchester City Flyers 9-2 at Ascot Racecourse despite the two sides being level at 2-2 at half-time.
League rivals Woodley United suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Alton.

Thames Valley Women’s Football League
Division 2 South: Sandhurst Town recovered from a surprise defeat to Bracknell Town Reserves last weekend to hand leaders Holyport only a second league defeat of the season with a 5-4 win.
Nicola Dixon (2), Shellie Irvine (2) and Jessica Loomes all scored for the Fizzers while Bracknell Town Ladies Development Team were beaten 4-2 at previously win-less Harefield United.
Bracknell – win-less themselves until last weekend led 1-0 through Lynsey Simpson but were pegged back to 2-1 and the Robins missed a penalty before half-time.
The second half saw Loren Cardy equalise for Bracknell but Harefield again went ahead and this time made it stick.
