It was a bit of a rout for Ascot United Ladies in Division 1 of the Southern Region Women’s Football League at the weekend as they beat Winchester City Flyers 9-2 at Ascot Racecourse – a game watched by a famous face.

Current Chelsea Ladies and England attacker Fran Kirby was watching on as Amy Woollard (pictured with Fran above) hit a hat-trick in the match.

Kirby tweeted later ‘Congrats on the win’!

Kirby scored 67 goals in 42 games for Reading FC Women before making the move to Chelsea in 2015 scoring 7 goals in the recent 2016 FA WSL1 season.

We spoke briefly to the @ascotladiesfc twitter account who said: ‘Fran was their just to watch as she is a close friend of a couple of players. Tried to get her to sign but she’s sticking with Chelsea.’
