It’s hard to argue that Thatcham Town were wound up so tight for this game – a situation that saw them lead Bracknell Town 2-0 after 5 minutes but self combust in the second.

Bracknell weren’t at the races in the opening minutes with James Tennant scoring in the opening minute and then after five. The Robins had chances in the first half but it settled into an even affair.

The introduction of Joe Grant on the right wing was the catalyst for Bracknell in the second half. He, and Bowerman on the left tormented Thatcham and TJ Bohane pulled one back for Bracknell.

Adam Cornell then levelled things up at 2-2 and subsequently won a penalty which Bowerman scored to make it 3-2.

At this point the visitors collapsed with two sendings off, one a straight red for a stamp on Bohane and the other a second bookable offence for a silly challenge on Bowerman.

The loss of discipline was interspersed with Bracknell’s fourth through Cornell and the hat trick was sealed with minutes to go.

Bracknell completed their ‘pivotal week‘ with an A+.
