Bracknell Town goalkeeper Simon Grant has signed for Vanarama National League South side Hungerford Town.

Grant – a long-term target for former Bracknell manager Bobby Wilkinson – has seen chances at Bottom Meadow limited by the form of Michael Eacott with the former Sutton Common Rovers stopper given the nod in recent weeks by new management duo Jamie McClurg and Carl Withers.

Grant had signed from Marlow in the summer but will now play for Hungerford ‘for the foreseeable future’ after signing on a dual-registration basis.

Hungerford have had issues in goal this season with another ex-Robin Mark Scott starting the season before departing while highly rated Bristol Rovers loanee Jed Ward has been out injured.

A statement on social media from the Crusaders said: “Hungerford Town welcome goalkeeper Simon Grant from Bracknell Town on a duel registration basis for the foreseeable future. A big thank you to our Berkshire neighbours and we are sure our fans will give Simon a warm welcome tomorrow at Bulpit Lane.
