The Kuwait national team is taking part in a training camp in the UK this summer and has arranged games against Isthmian League Marlow and Vanarama National League Maidenhead United.

Now National League South Hungerford Town have been added to the list of teams playing the national team, albeit in a ‘behind closed doors’ friendly at St Georges Park.

The Crusaders tweeted on Friday: “Huge honour for The Crusaders as they will play the Kuwait FA national team in a ‘behind closed doors’ friendly at St Georges Park A prestigious friendly to aid the Kuwait team with their ambitions at World Cup 2022. HTFC historians, first national team we’ve ever played?”

The answer to the question posed is slightly coincidental, in that according to Mike Hall (@mikehall0) the Crusaders played Kuwait at Bulpit Lane in the 1970s and a commemorative trophy exists in the clubs cabinet.

On Saturday, the club announced the big new that Poole Town striker James Constable had joined the club.

The former Oxford United and Walsall striker, 34, joins the Crusaders as a player/coach. Constable scored both goals for Kidderminster Harries in the 2007 3-2 FA Trophy Final defeat to Stevenage Borough.
