Combined Counties League Division One side AC London have been removed from the league with immediate affect following the outcome of an appeal.
A statement on the Combined Counties League website revealed that the FA investigated submissions made at the clubs appeal hearing, but found those submissions to be ‘completely false and written evidence to have been fabricated’.
The statement says that severe sanctions have been placed against the perpetrator of the false submissions. It added the Combined Counties League acted fully in line with procedure and the original decision made was constitutional.
The removal of AC London from the competition means that in all likelihood the clubs record will be expunged, though at the time of writing the club were still included in the league table.
Both Sandhurst Town and Eversley & California registered wins against the club, these should now be void.
Who are AC London?
Athletic Club London were formed in 2012 by manager and owner Prince Choudary in the aftermath of the London riots in 2011.
In a 2017 interview with the BBC, Choudary, who grew up in one of the worst affected areas said: “They broke into my uncle’s clothes shop, causing him to sell up his livelihood. They went past our house but luckily nothing happened.
“The problem is the youth are misled in today’s society and go down the wrong path; they choose the street life.
“It was soon after the riots that I had the idea to start a new football club. There was little in terms of activities in Croydon and I wanted to make a change.”
