Bracknell Town striker Liam Ferdinand has a rather special assignment next week when he is part of a 16 man squad due to fly to the Falkland Islands to play for an Football Association XI representative side.
There have been no updates on the squad since BBC journalist Ollie Bayliss tweeted the full 16 which includes former Reading City striker Mitchell Parker, but we’re still hoping there is room for Joe Grant in the side.
Football in Bracknell has been in contact with Matt Ware, the UK Public Relations Manager for the Falkland Islands Government and he has shared a breakdown of what the team will be up to when they head off on Wednesday for an 8,000 mile, 20 hour journey to the South Atlantic Ocean.
