The Bank Holiday weekend is nearly upon us and that means there are an extra set of fixtures to sink your teeth into; after all, what could be better than spending your day off on Monday watching a football match? Well for local football fans and ground hoppers alike, the answer to that question is simple: watching two football matches.
And they are in luck.
The Combined Counties League have set a 11:30am kick off time for all their fixtures on Bank Holiday Monday meaning the most dedicated supporters can catch a match from one of their divisions and still have plenty of time to make it to a 3pm kick off.
Eversley & California’s game at Bagshot has been postponed but the other one of our local representatives, Sandhurst Town, make the short trip to Cove who are based near Farnborough for a local derby in the Combined Counties Division One.
From Cove it is just a short hop across south Berkshire to get to several other nearby games.
In the Hellenic League Premier Division there are another two local derbies to choose from. Ascot United welcome Binfield to the Racecourse Ground and Windsor host their tenants, Virginia Water, at Stag Meadow.
If you would rather some Step 4 action for your 3pm kick off, then head to Larges Lane where Bracknell Town will be playing FC Romania in the Isthmian League South Central Division.
Whichever games you like the sound of, it is a great opportunity to enjoy two local matches and to maximise your football viewing over the weekend
