Enterprise National League South side Maidenhead United have confirmed the retirment of Harry Pritchard at the end of the 2025/26 season.
An announcement on the club website said: “Maidenhead United would like to recognise the career and achievements of Harry Pritchard, who announced on Tuesday that he will be drawing his playing career to a close at the end of the season.”
Now a veteran of nearly 250 appearances over two spells, Pritchard will retire after three starts this season following the recurrence of the back injury that has limited his participation on the pitch – off it the midfielder has been an intergral member of Ryan Peters back room staff as a strength and conditioning coach.
Pritchard was initially signed by Johnson Hippolyte for the Magpies in 2012 as an 18-year old from Burnham, having begun his senior career with Flackwell Heath.
He was one of five players retained by the incoming Alan Devonshire and was a part of some historic FA Cup runs and a member of the 2016/17 National League South title winning side.
The midfielder would go on to enjoy a Football League career with Blackpool where he played 50 times before moving on to Bradford City, eventually returning to Maidenhead last summer via Eastleigh and Barnet.
To quote the clubs official announcement: “We wish Harry, his wife Jessica and their two young daughters all the very best post-retirement from playing. You have represented our club as a fine and committed player and your legacy as a Maidenhead United legend is secure!”
