Bracknell Town boss Bobby Wilkinson clearly believes in “doing your business early”. The Robins have now signed on thirteen players for next season’s Step 3 challenge.

After the confirmation of signings Michael Eacott, Simon Grant, Seb Bowerman, Michael Herbert, Joe Grant and Dan Bayliss, Wilkinson has moved to commit many of his current squad to anohter season at Bracknell Town.

Right back Jack Dean played 31 times for the club this season, scoring once in a 1-0 victory over Tooting & Mitcham. The former Westfield defender has been an integral part of a defence that has been rock solid all year.

Another defender signing on is Ethan Burden, Wilkinson says of the player: “He’s an outstanding 1on1 defender and has had a fantastic season, playing consistently in a back 5 that only conceded 12 league goals.

George Knight is another player staying on at Bracknell. Only Seb Bowerman and Dan Bayliss played more times for the club in the past season. Knight even found his scoring boots later in the season scoring in the last two matches against Bedfont Sports and Westfield. These two goals added to the brace he scored against Thatcham Town earlier in the season.

The influential midfielder Scott Rees has been a central figure for Bracknell Town this season offering the sort of high energy displays that Wilkinson’s teams are known for. Rees played for Wilkinson at Hungerford Town and has unsurprisingly signed on for another year with the Robins.

Former Swindon and Wantage Town player Anthony Cheshire is another player who will be with Bracknell Town again next season. Cheshire has played eighteen times for the Robins this season, scoring twice.

Wilkinson has ensured that he has attacking options also with the signing of Shamar Moore. This season with Bracknell’s was Moore’s first at senior level having played for both Reading and Cardiff City at youth level recently.

There is still no news about whether Michael Atkinson, James Clark, Dave Tarpey or Temi Eweka will be signing on again for Bracknell Town next season, however it should be remembered it is still early May and the new season is still a couple of months away. A lot can change!
