Thatcham Town may have pipped Bracknell Town to the Hellenic League Premier Division title, but it’s the Robins who sit pretty on top of the average attendance league ladder at the end of the 2017/18 season. Over the season more than 8,000 supporters passed through the turnstiles of Larges Lane.
Bracknell Town averaged an impressive 278 for games at Larges Lane during the season with 242 if you only include league fixtures.
The largest attendance registered at Larges Lane during the season was the FA Vase Quarter Final tie against Marske United (pictured above) where an incredible 1,082 turned out to watch the game. The overall average for Hellenic League Premier clubs across the whole division for the season was 86.
Note: Not every fixture on FA Full Time has an attendance filed against it. So for the purposes of the above averages these fixtures have been excluded.
Perhaps the most remarkable attendance statistic from the 2017/18 Premier Division season is that of the top 20 largest attendances in league fixtures 17 of those featured Bracknell Town as the home or away side.
The largest attendance that watched a Hellenic League Premier club this season was the excellent 2,208 crowd at Melksham Town who saw Thatcham’s 1-0 victory in the FA Vase. This figure will likely be dwarfed by the crowd at Wembley for the FA Vase final later this May.
Of the other local clubs Binfield registered three figure attendances on ten separate occasions this season. The largest crowd at Binfield being a bumper 312 crowd who watched Bracknell Town secure a narrow 1-0 victory in late March.
Ascot United’s largest registered crowd was the 191 who saw them win a local derby 4-2 over Windsor on Boxing Day.
