A statement released Caversham United Football Club will unveil a landmark collaboration with Reading rock band The Amazons as the club launches its new away shirt for the 2026–27 and 2027–28 seasons.

The partnership marks the first time since the launch of the #CavUtdKitCompetition in 2018 that the club has not selected a kit through its public design competition.

Instead, the shirt has been designed collaboratively by Caversham United first-team player Joe Hales, chairman Paul Gutteridge and members of The Amazons, working together throughout the creative process – from the initial mood boards to the finished design.

Speaking to Football in Berkshire, overexcited chairman Paul Gutteridge said: “I am so excited that we can finally tell the world about what we’ve been up to!

“Much like the building of Rome, this wasn’t done in a day. In fact, the conversation started over a year ago… all from a cheeky suggestion of The Amazons sponsoring last year’s home kit!

“Since then, it’s been an absolute pleasure to meet and spend time with the band, from the initial concept through to the photo shoot last week. Big shout out to Joe Hales for his instrumental lead in the kit design process and bringing the ideas to life.

“And for me once again – like the Dave Kitson signing a couple of years ago – this has been an amazing opportunity to get to know the people you only used to see from afar.

“That’s the power of football. That’s the power of social media. That’s the power of Caversham United Football Club.”
