Former Maidenhead United star Sam Barratt has signed on with National League South rivals Farnborough after his York Road departure.

Barratt was one of a number of departures from Maidenhead at the end of the season as new boss Ryan Peters reshapes his squad for the new campaign. He made over 350 appearances for the Magpies during two spells either side of a stint in the Football League with Southend United.

He was a member of Maidenhead’s 2017 National League South title winning side after joining the club from Bracknell Town.

Barratt will be number 11 at Farnborough, with boss Spencer Day saying: “With so much National League experience, Sam was a no brainer after he decided to leave Maidenhead after so long.

“A wand of a left-foot, equally at home high up the pitch or wing back and he also possesses a huge throw. Local lad and an easy deal for us all.”
