One of the Thames Valley Premier League’s most successful managers has called it a day after completing a second successive Step 7 treble.
Devonn Reid has stepped down as manager of ‘three in a row’ title winners Westwood Wanderers with immediate effect.
In recent seasons, the TVPL has certainly had periods of domination with Finchampstead winning back-to-back titles between 2020/21 and 2021/22 while Reading YMCA won it five times between 2010 and 2018 – inclduing three in a row between 2016 and 2018.
But the dominance of Westwood has seen them beat newly-formed Windsor & Eton to a title three seasons ago while lifting back back-to-back League and County Cups.
Reid himself has proved his worth in the dugout, it remains to be seen what he moves on to.

The Westwood Wanderers statement in full:
Today marks the end of an incredible chapter for Westwood Wanderers as Devonn Reid steps away from his position as First Team Manager.
It is difficult to put into words the impact Devonn has had on this football club. From the moment he took charge, he helped transform Westwood Wanderers both on and off the pitch, creating not only successful teams but a culture, identity and winning mentality that will remain part of the club for years to come.
Under his leadership, Westwood has enjoyed the most successful period in its history. League titles, cup victories, historic trebles, unbeaten campaigns, record-breaking points totals and unforgettable memories have all been achieved during his time at the helm. Time and time again he raised the standards, setting targets many thought were impossible before finding a way to achieve them.
While the trophies will always be remembered, what often goes unnoticed are the countless hours behind the scenes. The late nights, fundraising, sponsorship work, recruitment, administration, planning and the endless commitment to ensuring Westwood Wanderers continued to grow both on and off the field.
More importantly, he helped build something far greater than a successful football team. He helped create a family. Bringing together players, coaches, volunteers, supporters and sponsors, he played a huge role in shaping the club into what it is today and establishing Westwood Wanderers as one of the most respected clubs in local football.
His achievements will forever be part of the club’s history:
3x TVPL Premier Division Champions
2x Berks & Bucks Cup Winners
2x Berkshire Trophy Centre Cup Winners
Football In Berkshire Manager of the Season
Multiple Historic Trebles
Invincible Season
Record Points Total
Whilst this chapter comes to a close, the foundations he has built and the memories he has created will remain at Westwood Wanderers for years to come.
On behalf of everyone at the club, thank you Gaffa for everything you have given to Westwood Wanderers. Your legacy is written into the history of this football club forever.
