As far as crucial games go, a cup game for Bracknell Town right now probably isn’t as important as getting Southern League points on the board under new manager Matthew Saunders.

The Robins are – suprisingly – bottom of the table going in to the weekend’s fixtures with the new manager still waiting to register a first league win of his tenure despite a very professional performance in Saunders first game – the 2-0 FA Cup win over Tadley Calleva. Danny Robinson’s Hungerford will offer no easy ride, they are up in 10th on 13 points after nine games this season.

‘Don’t mention the FA Cup’ though, as the really rather good match preview by Hungerford’s Martyn Leach pointed out. Both sides exited the competition to teams they’d otherwise have been expected to beat and now face each other in the FA Trophy with a place in the First Round Proper on the line.

Tickets for the match are available now via the Bracknell Town website.

The Adobe Women’s FA Cup has thrown up some great home ties this weekend with both Reading FC Women and Dave Kitson’s Maidenhead United at home. But here at Football in Berkshire we are FA Cup romantics and we’ll be crossing everything for Ashridge Park to bag the £4,000 on offer if they can get past Greater London Women’s Football League Premier Division side South London.

Full details on the Women’s FA Cup First Round draw is here.
