Bracknell Town have secured their place in the Berks & Bucks FA Senior Cup for the second time in two seasons with a slim bit convincing visiter over MK Dons Academy.
Both squads were quick out the blocks with the ball pinballing between the pairs midfields and neither side able to break down the others defences.
But a looping corner was the difference in the first half as Jordan Esprit evaded the grasping Ronnie Sandford to find the back of the net.
HT Bracknell Town 1-0 MK Dons Academy
The Robins used the second half to display their experience over youth and managed the game well to take a little edge off the pace in order to maintain control. And it came to fruition when a charging Dan Roberts did well to keep the ball in play before he pinged it across the face of the goal into the path of a ready Jonny Efedje to make it 2-0.
There were flashes of chances certainly for the visitors with much of their play coming down the right wing but a formidable defence with direction lead by Michael Eacott and Daryl Harrison kept the Dons out of the box for the most part. They were able to pull one back as captain Simone Troso slotted a shot into the bottom right corner but it wasn’t enough to take the game to penalties.
