Former Maidenhead United defender Max Kilman is in demand this summer – the Wolverhampton Wanderers defender is wanted by Serie A champions Napoli.

The Wolverhampton Express & Star is reporting that the Midlands side want a bid of at least £35 million before they part with the man they paid the Magpies £40,000 for in 2018.

The paper reports: “An offer of around £30 million was rejected over the weekend with Wolves thought to be demanding at least £35m before they will even consider parting with the 26-year-old.

“It remains to be seen whether Napoli will return with a second, improved bid but it would require the Italian club or another suitor to match his valuation before Wolves would have a decision to make.”

On Monday morning, The Athletic reported that Maradona’s former club had made a bid for the left-footed centre-back.

A lot hinges on Premier League Wolves willingness to sell, which at the moment seems unnecessary having already sold defenders Conor Coady to Leicester City and let Nathan Collins move to Brentford.

However, driving up the price will only benefit Maidenhead, who reportedly have a 20% sell-on clause which would entitle them to a windfall of at least £6 million based on the current bid.
