Bracknell Town chairman Kayne Steinborn-Busse has revealed that Bottom Meadow will undergo a major upgrade in the summer.

In a reply to a tweet following Bracknell’s postponed home Southern League Premier Division South fixture with Met Police on Saturday, the Robins chairman wrote: “Good shout we have our new 3G being installed on the 9th May ready for the 2023/24 Season!”

The pitch at Bottom Meadow is well known for its ability to flood, and with Bracknell’s FA Cup, FA Trophy and County Cup runs coupled with Sandhurst Town’s Combined Counties League Division One title challenge, there are still an awful lot of games to be played before the season ends this month.

Sandhurst’s fixture was postponed on Saturday as well and the Fizzers have a mammoth 14 games to fit in before the play-offs are due to start.

Bracknell have now spent two seasons at Bottom Meadow, sharing with Sandhurst, playing on a grass surface. With work set to begin now on the artificial surface in the summer neither side should suffer such a fixture pile up come the end of the 2023/24 season.
