Combined Counties League Premier Division North title challengers Ascot United have strengthened their forward options with the addition of McKoy Palmer.

Most recently with Division One side Woodley United, Palmer rose to prominence with Ascot’s current title rivals Reading City before moving up to play for Basingstoke Town in the Isthmian League as well as Thatcham Town.

This season Palmer has played seven times for Woodley and will certainly be a boost to Ascot’s title chances.

Ascot currently lead the Premier Division North by four points from Reading City and the two sides will meet again at the Racecourse Ground on 17th January after the reverse fixture finised 1-1 at The Rivermoor in December.

Meanwhile, the Yellas are the last Berkshire representative in the FA Vase this season and they face a trip to Buckland Athletic on Saturday in the Fourth Round. A full list of weekend fixtures is here.
