Former Bracknell Town player/manager Carl Davies has joined Ian Selley and Ryan Northmore at Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Sandhurst Town.

The centre back had joined Premier Division Badshot Lea in the summer making two appearances but will now join up with the Fizzers as Selley and Northmore look to build a squad capable of challenging.

Davies, who has also played locally for Woodley United and Binfield, will be familiar with several members of the Sandhurst squad, fellow defender Damien Smith is on the club’s books along with attacking winger Khalid Senussi.

As well as Davies, Selley and Northmore have persuaded their former Woking teammate and midfielder Karl Murray to join up with them at Bottom Meadow.

Speaking to Football in Berkshire last week, Selley said he was looking for a few experienced players to add to his squad: “It’s important we get the mix right of young players and experience. We’re not worried, we’ve had conversations with clubs and players and we feel more comfortable here already.”

Both Murray and Davies are in the squad as the Fizzers head to Bedfont & Feltham on Saturday looking to bounce back from the midweek defeat to Farnham, a week after securing their first three points of the season at home to Dorking Wanderers Reserves.
