We’ll keep it brief, Bracknell Town need to win by 10 goals at home to Tuffley Rovers on Saturday at Larges Lane to pip Thatcham Town the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division title.
If Bracknell do hit the heights, as unlikely as it might seem they’d win the title by virtue of matching goal difference but having scored more goals than Thatcham Town. 131 to the blues 129.
Until last season we’d have said that was unlikely but then Thame United went and scored the nine goals they needed at Henley Town to beat Bracknell to promotion – albeit unnecessarily after the Robins lost to Highworth on the final day.
Having said that Tuffley are a very very different side to Henley who were already heading down last season and ultimately resigned from the league midway through the current campaign.
Bracknell lined up on Thursday night at Lydney with goals in mind and you’d expect similar from boss Carl Davies again on Saturday. TJ Bohane, Joe Grant and Adam Cornell all started up front and the Robins will welcome back Kensley Maloney from suspension for the final league game of the season.

Elsewhere Woodley United need to back up their impressive win on Thursday night by beating Longlevens on Saturday at Scours Lane.
Doing so and results for Highmoor Ibis and Fairford Town going the Kestrels way would see them finish 17th in the Premier Division – first in line to receive a relegation reprieve if they are handed out. Captain Idris Kamara led by example on Thursday scoring the winning goal as James Anderson’s side came from 2-0 down at home to Royal Wootton Bassett Town.
Elsewhere it’s party time for Division 1 East champions Virginia Water as they host Thame Rangers while Wokingham & Emmbrook and AFC Aldermaston round off their seasons with a derby fixture at Lowther Road.
