The draw for the Second Qualifying Round of the 2017/18 Emirates FA Cup takes place at 1pm on Monday afternoon and while there are no local clubs left in the competition, there’s still plenty to interest the travelling Berkshire fan.
Slough Town, managed by former Bracknell Town defenders Neil Baker and Jon Underwood are in the hat after beating Berkhamsted 3-1 on Saturday while Vanarama National League South side Hungerford Town go in to the hat for the first time his season.
National League Premier side Maidenhead United will join the action in the fourth qualifying round.
Slightly further afield, Basingstoke Town are in the hat for the second round after drawing 2-2 at home with Hartley Wintney and Thatcham Town hammered Hamworthy United 5-1 on the South Coast.
No longer taking part are Farnborough (3-2 defeat at home to Salisbury) and Guildford City (3-1 defeat at home to Knaphill).
Following the cup..
Of the teams that knocked our sides out in the Preliminary Round, Horndean – conquerors of Binfield – were beaten 2-0 at home by Bodmin Town and Winchester City – conquerors of Bracknell Town – were beaten 1-0 at Winchester City.
