Bracknell Town manager Carl Davies has addressed supporters following the new captain and talisman Seb Bowerman had departed Bottom Meadow.

The club had confirmed Bowerman’s departure saying it was ultimately an offer that could not be turned down.

Writing on social media, Davies said: “I feel it is important to address the supporters with an update regarding our squad and in particular the departures

“Since myself and Sean came in we have lost a number of ‘big’ players. Has it been hard to deal with? Yes. Have we still achieved positive performances and results? Yes

“The departure of Seb Bowerman is probably our biggest hit to date, however I’m still confident of achieving the same performance levels and results, nothing changes in that regard. We have created an identity whereby players can be coached into our playing style and produce what we need from them and we have probably one of the best coaches out there to do so.

“Whilst I understand your frustration please know that myself and Sean are still as confident and as determined as we’ve ever been to continue producing positive results on the pitch.

Clubs will continue to come in for our players which we can see as a complement to the style and brand of football being played.

“The future is bright and vision is clear.”

Bowerman was the Robins top scorer this season according to FootballWebPages, with match-winning goals in recent weeks against Sholing and Hungerford Town.

Davies added in a personal message to Bowerman, a player he has now played alongside and managed: “Where do I start? From a young 15 year old at Binfield you caught the eye of all the first team at that time and boy have you lived up to the hype. You’ve been a privilege to play alongside initially and now to manager. I’m absolutely gutted to see you go but you go with my best wishes and I know you’ll do well. Thank you for buying in to mine and Sean’s identity and thank you for all the memories.”
