Windsor & Eton bolster forward line with Morrison Hashii signing – transfer round-up

Japanese striker scored 72 goals in 22/23 and will boost the Royalists squad with fixture pressure beginning to mount - meanwhile Reading City have added experience and a Maidenhead United youngster has extended his contract

Windsor & Eton boss Rob Webb has boosted his sides forward line with the capture of Morrison Hashii, most recently with Isthmian League side Met Police.

The forward joins the play-off changing Royalists ahead of a challenging end of season for Webb’s side who – with postponements and an FA Vase run – are seven games behind many sides in the Combined Counties League Premier Division North.

Speaking to Football in Berkshire, Webb – who’s side were due to travel to North Leigh on Tuesday night for a now postponed fixture – said: “Like many, we became aware of Morrison’s goal threat during the season he scored over 70 goals, and we’ve kept a close eye on his progress ever since.

“He’s had a frustrating time with injury this season, but now he’s on the road to recovery there felt no better moment to bring him in. Morrison is a top-quality player with a fantastic attitude and a real love for the game, and he fits perfectly into what we’re building here.”

Morrison scored 72 goals in all competitions for London Samurai Rovers in the Combined Counties League Division One during the 2022/23 season. The Japanese-born forward joined Basingstoke Town the following season before spells with Hayes & Yeading United, Aylesbury United and Met Police as well as Uxbridge.

Maidenhead United meanwhile have confirmed the signing of Alfie Pendlebury as part of their Enterprise National League South squad.

The 22-year-old striker was most recently with Hanwell Town in the Southern League but has also played for Holyport and Cheshunt.

The Magpies have also confirmed a contract extension for youngster Jadyn Dundas to the end of next season. He remains on loan at Hendon for the remainder of this current campaign.

Reading City meanwhile have added some experience to their squad with the signing of Jack Smith – most recently player/manager at Step 4 Northwood.

Well travelled in the Combined Counties League having represented Broadfields United as well as Risborough Rangers and Corinthian Casuals, Smith has also played higher up the pyramid for Chesham United and Wealdstone where he began his career.

Speaking of the signing on the City website, manager Simon Johnson said: “Great to have Jack on board with us. He has real ability and game changing quality on the ball. When we saw he was looking for a club and had moved locally, it was a no brainer to reach out. With the amount of games we still have to play this season, we are going to need a big squad full of quality to get us through and Jack certainly adds to that.”
