Chelsea defender Lewis Hall is the latest Berkshire youngster attracting attention after Max Kilman caught the eye of Serie A champions Napoli.
Kilman has signed a new deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers, but The Athletic’s David Ornstein is now reporting Champions League qualifiers Newcastle United are after Hall.
Left back Hall – who’s older brother Connor has made FA Cup headlines in recent years – came through the Binfield Soccer School and junior setup, and recently paid a visit to his former club.
The Slough-born youngster impressed in several first team appearance for Chelsea last season, including a League Cup tie away at Manchester City.
Ornstein reports: “Eddie Howe’s side have seen a number of approaches for the 18-year-old rebuffed this summer, with Chelsea securing him to a new long-term contract.
“But Newcastle’s interest has remained and they have since made another offer. Chelsea initially preferred Hall joining Crystal Palace on loan, but the England youth international is favouring a permanent exit.”
It has since been reported across several national outlets that a deal worth between £28million and £30million has been agreed for the transfer. Sadly for Binfield, unlike Maidenhead’s Max Kilman deal, there is no ‘sell on clause’ for the youngster.
