Vanarama National League Maidenhead United will be without their striker Emile Acquah after the forward moved to Barrow in the EFL League Two.

The centre-forward joined Maidenhead permanently last summer from Southend United following two previous loan spells and scored 13 National League goals for the Magpies.

A statement released by the club said: “We can confirm the departure of striker, Emile Acquah, who joins Sky Bet League Two side, Barrow AFC, for an undisclosed fee.”

Last season, Aqcuah made his debut for the England C semi-professional side and is the latest in a steady stream of young talent who have been able to showcase their skills at York Road and earn a move to a professional club.

In recent years the Magpies have seen Max Kilman join Wolves, Danilo Orsi join Harrogate Town, Josh Coley head to Exeter City and Sam Barratt to Southend United while Danny Whitehall joined Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premier League.
